If you're here, you’ve probably heard of me—maybe through my training programs, my plant-based transformation guides, or from one of the 400+ articles I've published over the years. But if you're wondering who I really am beyond the headlines, the handstands, and the green smoothies—this one’s for you.
I’m Steve Pilot. German by blood, vegan by choice, and a bodybuilder by passion.
And this is the story of how I turned discipline, plants, and purpose into a lifestyle that not only changed my own life—but now helps others transform theirs too.
From Germany With Grit
I was born in Munich, Germany—October 9th, 1980. And like most German kids, I grew up with structure, cold winters, and not much fluff.
I started lifting weights when I was 13 years old, just a skinny teen curious about strength. I didn’t know it then, but that barbell would become my lifelong partner.
Fast forward a few years—I joined the German Special Forces as a paratrooper. That experience shaped a huge part of my mindset. Discipline. Focus. No excuses. You learn quickly in the military that nobody cares how you feel—only how you show up.
But when my service ended, something didn’t sit right.
I had the muscles, the degree (yes, I also studied engineering), and the hustle—but I was still searching for something deeper.
Around the World and Back to Myself
I did what most people only talk about—I packed a bag and traveled the world. I visited over 80 countries, searching for meaning, connection, and clarity. Somewhere between the mountains, the markets, and the mess, I watched the documentary Earthlings. That film wrecked me—in the best way possible.
From that day forward, I stopped eating animals. Full stop. No “transition period.” No cheat meals. I went vegan overnight.
Why? Because real strength doesn’t come from dominating the weak. It comes from protecting them. And if I could be strong without contributing to suffering, why the hell wouldn’t I?
People thought I’d lose muscle. Shrink. Get weak.Instead? I got leaner. Faster. Stronger. And more focused than ever before.
Building Muscle Without Meat
Becoming a vegan bodybuilder wasn’t just about proving a point—it became a calling.
I built a method that combined strength training, calisthenics, handstands, clean eating, fasting, and recovery—all plant-powered.
I trained hard. I coached harder. Eventually, people started to notice.PETA interviewed me. Muscle & Fitness featured me.
The Beet shared my transformation.Bangkok 101 called me the “Vegan Strength Trainer of Bangkok.”But none of that really mattered unless I stayed real. So I did.
Every pull-up. Every deadlift. Every handstand I teach my clients—comes from experience. Nothing was handed to me. I earned every damn rep.
What Makes Me Different
Look, there are a lot of trainers out there. Some eat raw eggs. Some scream motivational quotes. That’s not me.
What makes me different?I’ve lived every part of this. The dark days. The rebuild. The lifestyle switch.
The discipline.I’ve helped people lose weight, gain muscle, beat depression, and find self-respect again—without harming animals or compromising their values.
And yes, I do a ridiculous amount of handstands. Every day.Not just for the body—but for the brain. Balance your body, and your mind starts to follow.
Now I Live to Give Back
Today, I live in Thailand full-time. I coach clients from all walks of life. Some want to transform physically. Some want to go vegan without losing strength. Some just want to feel like themselves again.
I’ve written books like Vegan for Beginners Guide and Get Fit Program.I offer customized coaching, real support, and—unlike most trainers—I actually give a shit about your results.
Final Thoughts
I'm not here to impress anyone. I’m here to make an impact.
So whether you’re a curious meat-eater, a struggling vegan, or just someone who wants to feel strong again—know this:You don’t need meat to be masculine. You don’t need to suffer to build muscle. And you sure as hell don’t need to follow the crowd to be powerful.
You just need a plan. And someone who’s walked the path—and still walking it.That’s me.
